The Sun Corridor Network is one of the more than 200 research members affiliated with Internet2, which is a community of global leaders in academia, industry, and government who create and collaborate via innovative technologies. Together, they accelerate research discovery, advance national and global education, and improve the delivery of public services. The Internet2 community touches nearly every major innovation that defines our modern digital lives—and continues to define "what’s next."
Sponsored Educational Group Participants (SEGP)
Sponsored Educational Group Participants are individual research and education organizations that are engaged in collaboration with an Internet2 member for instructional, research, clinical or content-related projects. In order to obtain access to Internet2, eligible entities such as K-12 networks, community college networks, and similar educational organizations, need to have a primary participant to sponsor them. The Internet2 project that sponsors those entities is a SEGP.
Sun Corridor Network has an SEGP agreement with Internet2, which enables access to national research and education network resources to the various K12 schools, community colleges, libraries, and museums within Arizona. The SEGP's intention is to facilitate collaboration, build an environment needed for innovative research and advanced education, foster networking and application research, and enable interconnectivity among education networks.
